This week at the shop AND THE MARKETS!! Week of June 17th
Yeah for Circle City Soups!!
They tied for first place appetizer at Zoobilation!!! Unfortunately, the way of the tie breaker went to the other restaurant, but still that is awesome! They made a wonderful Vietnamese Noodle lettuce wrap in greens from Eden Farms. I wouldn't be surprised if you see it on the menu soon!!
Another donut day!!
So, our fried croissant donuts (aka - doissants) have been an amazing success, so we'll be doing them again. We are making them this Friday, June 21 starting at 8am. Once again we'll have the plain ($2), bagged holes ($2) and pastry cream filled ($3). We are accepting pre-orders with a credit card number for 10 or more. You can call the shop to order those. Pre-orders will only be taken until we close at 3pm on Wednesday. After that it is first come first served. The number to call is 317-632-3644.
Soup for the markets!!!
Now that it is officially Indiana tomato season, expect to find CC Soups fresh, local tomato Gazpacho!! We typically get our tomatoes from VanAntwerp's Farm on
Wednesdays at the City Market. And our course our basil from Eden Farms. We will have this pretty much all summer at Broad Ripple and Carmel on Saturdays.
Other soups will vary, depending on products that we get at the markets. "Dad" from "My Dad's Sweet Corn" let me know that some of their corn is tassling and
they are hoping to have some by July 4th. You know what that means - "My Dad's" Sweet Corn Chowder. Don't bother asking if we have it until you see them
selling at the markets. We'll have it to you as soon as we can.
New places to find our products!!
As you know, we have started working with Foundry Provisions at 16th and Alabama. This is a great little neighborhood coffee shop/cafe and they are carrying a wide
variety of our items, including croissants, scones, muffins, cookies, cakes and soups. Get over there and check it out!! Check them out on Facebook or at their
website: www.foundryprovisions.com.
We are also providing an exclusive line of French Macarons for Rook, which opened last week on Virginia Ave., just down the block from Calvin Fletcher's Coffee House.
This is a new place from the folks who have brought you Siam Square and Black Market. Some of the flavors we are doing for them are black sesame, white chocolate wasabi,
green tea and lemongrass/ginger.
Hoosier Culinary Sharpening
We have begun a drop off service at The Indianapolis City Market. You may drop off your kitchen knives at Circle City Sweets or Circle City Soups. For first-time customers,
you can bring your knives wrapped in a towel or in a protective case. Your first knife sharpened for free, with a $5 purchase from either Circle City Sweets or Soups
(minimum three knives dropped off). For rates and more information, please see www.hoosierculinarysharpening.com.
BAKING CLASSES!!!
We have had SO many people asking about classes since the article ran in the Star a few weeks ago about classes we offer. We are working on a schedule,
which will include at least 2 different sessions on Macarons, and as soon as we have it ready, I'll get it posted.
